Ok so let me see if I have this right.

You where getting a uefi shell loop and was unable to boot into windows.

You have changed something in bios to allow you to boot into windows now. Correct?

If Correct. What setting did you change in bios?

Hi,

Since earlier this afternoon, my PC only displays a page which seem to be called : EFI Shell version 2.31 [4.655] or device mapping table.

I never seen this before and.. I'm not an IT or a professional, however I can learn quickly and I consider having a good analytic mind..

What happened is that I finally wanted to OC my chip myself instead of MSI's OC Genie..

So I shut down the PC and disabled the OC Genie with the onboard button.

Next I put back the side panel, then proceeded to see if the PC was still good .. It booted up normally.

Now restarted to the uefi and loomed at the overall settings,

Now pay attention, this is where it might have gone wrong.

When on the OC tab, tried to enter a CPU ratio value, normal was on Auto. And no way to change it..

So I got back to the general setting looking for something to enable manual OCing. I stumbled upon windows 8/8.1/10 settings.. Disabled so I enabled it..

Tried to boot to see if it changed anything, and since then everything I try bring me back to the 'EFI shell version ...... / device mapping table ..... I switched BIOS with the MB switch, changed nothing..

I'll post a picture in a few minutes , Tapatalk crash every time I try to include one.

Im not sure where you will find it in MSI bios but start buy going to a tab called "CSM" and another tab normally under CSM called "Secure Boot".

Please tell me what they are set to.

The only place I can find secure boot is: settings\Advanced\Windows 8/8.1/10 Conficuration\secure boot.

Now I see

Greyed ou

-System Mode :setup

-secure boot : not active

And those 2 options :

-secure boot support : [disabled]

-secure boot mode : [standard]

Hmm those settings are not right. Have you pulled the CMOS battery for 10 seconds to allow a bios reset?

Im going to assume you have 4 HDD's by what I see in the shell.

If so I am going to assume that fs0 is you primary drive (OS).

If that is the case type fs0 then press enter at the shell prompt. The type dir.

Typed : fs0 *pressed enter* and got:

'fs0' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable programming or batch file

I unplugged the non-os drives

All left is the OS on an SSD

Few Ideas you can try.

In bios set uefi to legacy.

Also make sure fast boot is disabled as well.

Not overly familiar with MSI. Is that an MSI thing.

Cause it sounds like you may have a issue with the MBR on your primary drive.

Try typing FS1: instead.

Just now, Warren Park said:

Then type in dir, and just see around what files you have. If you see anything that ends with .efi, type that into the shell and press enter, and see if it boots.
