So water computer masters... I have this retarded idea to have no fans in my desk pc. For quietness and and yep anyway. And instead of using my budget on fans why not have like 4 radiators instead of 2 radiators with fans. I dont mind losing a few degrees, well gaining them, and losing some of that OC factor but I'd like it to be quiet. The loop will both have the GPU and CPU. So can I do it?

I haven't actually water-cooled (yet) but i think that, due to their density, passive heat dissipation would be really ineffective. they need to have air forced through them (even gently) for them to be effective. slapping some low RPM pressure optimized fans on there would probably be your best bet for "silent" cooling performance.

indeed, passively cooling with rads is ineffective bacause of their density. you're better off sticking some big heatsinks onto your CPU and GPU. tough there will be next to no overclocking when you go passive. :(

By adding the extra rads couldn't you run the fans at such low RPM they would be silent? Esp. if you use high quality fans.

Yes you can run WC just passively. My fans dont kick on at idle. Basic physics (warm air rises compared to cold air) takes care of a tiny little bit airflow.

But.... Having no fans on your rads would be a bad idea. You need to have such a low powered system or a shit ton of rad space to dissipate the heat of a gaming rig. it is better to have some fans on there and set your fan profile to only start when ur core/GPU reach 40 C or something.

The problem with not having any fans is that if your system does not have fans there is no way to get the heat out fast if your system starts ramping up. probably resulting in boiling water and everything reaching its thermal limit.

This is exactly how my rig is setup. Only when Im gaming do the fans spin up and keep everything below 50C while still remaining relativly quiet.
