I think you can continue using Win7 trial by reinstalling everytime. But Win8+ that wont work. Microsoft has their way of preventing misuse like that.

What you can do is get Linux. And run any windows only software with WINE. Not that hard with bit patience and Google.

The win 7 should work fine. You will get annoying messages that your a "victim" of software counterfieting. I would have more respect for MS if the "nag" message said" pay us our F&%#ing  money thief!!!!" You can always make an ISO of Linux Mint. It is easy, fast and cheap. Steam works on it but not Origen.

Some guys say you can get a key from reddit for dirt cheap but I have not tried this,

well ill keep using the trail because what i do i need windows ive tried wine before and it didnt work. but im really just asking can i have lets say windoes 8 trial on one HDD and windoes 7 on the other. and when i want to switch my OS just plug in the HDD that has 7, and if 7 does not work can i just unplug that HDD and plug in the one with windows 8 and it will boot into 8?

the reason im not sure if it works like the is because some of the OS i stored in the bios isn't it? so could that make it not work?

Having OS per HDD works. Its called dual booting. Most modern mobos have chip that stores info of which OS key is used. So that you can't use key again on another mobo. Or something like that.

Trick in WINDOWS 8 (NOT 8.1):

Put in a VALID key that has been used already, then refresh the OS through the settings menu.

After that, you can use everything in it. Only problem is sometimes you get a popup telling you to activate windows, if it asks you to do that click go to pc settings and then just go back to desktop.

Edit: I found out this myself, not sure if there's any tutorials or anything on the internet about it.

If you have one os on one HD and one on the other you can just go into BIOS and choose which HD is the first boot device. That way you won't have to mess with plugging and unplugging.

Funny story, in the old IDE days if you had two hd's you had to set a jumper on one to M for master and the other jumper had to be set to S for slave. When Al Sharpton found out he had a press conference to decry systemic racism in the tech industry.
