Are skullcandys good

I recently bought some skullcandy titans for fairly cheap i bought them mostly for look and price but are they as bad as people say they are and yeah thats about it thanks

I have super cheap £8 skullcandy's and I think there really good for the price.

Yes, they are horrible compared to actual good headphones.

Real audio gear is made by companies with real names like sony, sennheiser, beyerdynamic, audio technica.  Not catchy, hip names like skullcandy and beats or monster.

 

Basically if the company is trying too hard to sound impressive with a "play on words" name then they are probably sht.

+1 for what the moose said but with a few addons.

 

logitech has acquired ultimate ears and while most of the older logitech branded stuff is subpar but the logitech ultimate ears branded audio gear is pretty good.

 

skullcandy has put out a lot of terrible products but recently they made some efforts with the mix master mikes and the hesh (I might be wrong with the hesh) the latter 2 have been rated as pretty good by a lot of people on headfi.

Except that on Schiit's about us page they point out that the name is intended to be fun  and not serious. They are not trying hard to be cool, they just are cool. You won't see anything like that on skullcandy's website.

I have a bad habit of being very  literal, which sometimes makes understanding text based jokes/sarcasm difficult.

Well, I don't know, I still haven't gotten the $1000 together yet to find out!  I've got about 5 other headphones I'd like to collect before that one.  It's another Ortho, so I'd imagine it's very accurate, heavy, goofy looking, and very strange on the high end.  Apparently the one insane head-fi guy who has ALL the headphones called it the "king of darkness".  It's made in California wine country.

 

Sounds pretty fishy to me, but that's all I really know.

 

Wood is sorta before my time, anyways...

I'm not gonna lie i owned a few. I think there good for there price i have washed those earphones a few times and they worked fine after. But if you want good ear phones you are gonna have to spend more then 40-50$ That's my opinion.

I have read articles that say most sub $30 earbuds all come from the same factory (ipod anyone) so it would not surprise me if more people came out with similar opinions.

As long as they're decent i dont mind im not really looking to spend that much on earphones if im gonna spend that much i should probably get a sound card thanks guys

I personally think skullcandy is an even worse buy than Beats... And Beats are the worst way to throw away butloads of money in the world.

There is NO redeeming quality about Skyllcandy what so ever! Saying SkullCandy is good would be like saying JarJar is better than Chewbacca and the Phantom Menace is better than Empire....

That whole time it was supposed to be pronounced "odyssey"?! I was pronouncing it "aud-eez" for ages.
