R9 280X 3Gb or GTX 960 4GB?

Go to solution Solved by Nishizumi,

Well memory bus size and amount of RAM isn't everything. You also need to take into account the memory bandwidth and frequency. Honestly, to make your choice you have to look at benchmarks on your favorite games and such since factors like those are hardly deal breakers.

Hello my fellow gamers.  I am currently running a Crossfire setup with my ATI Radeon 5770 with an intel core i5 750 oc to 3.5 Ghz and was thinking about upgrading my gpu and cant seem to decide between the R9 280X 3Gb and GTX 960 4GB? The Memory Interface width and the VRAM is where i am having my doubts. The R9 has a 384 bit bus width with 3GB VRAM where as the 960 has a 128 bit bus width along with 4 GB VRAM. Is the memory interface width that important? or show i go purely depending on the much VRAM the cards have. I would really appreciate the support. Thanks in advance!

280X - roughly 10-20 fps ahead in benchmarks - no real competition.

Go for nvidia 970 4GB or 280X 3GB. The 970 4GB is more powerfull GPU.
