Overclocked my CPU to 4.2Ghz and unlike before it doesn't throttle down anymore.

This causes my CPU (3570K) to run hotter.

Any way to make my CPU throttle again from 1.6GHz to 4.2Ghz?

Or is keeping it at 4.2Ghz better?

Thanks in advance

Edit: does this have to do anything with intel turbo?

Some bios' will make changes when you make certain changes. Suppose to be helpful...

After you confirm you're stable at 4.2 with the Vcore you decided on. Give Offset voltage a try along with certain C states. You can Google and find out exactly what everything in your bios does.

If enabling the C1 state doesn't do the trick, check your advanced power management settings in Windows. Under processor power management make sure Minimum processor state is set to 10% (or lower; doesn't matter, won't go lower anyway).

You need to check your CPU power management settings. To get to your CPU power management settings, you type Power Options in windows search after clicking on windows Orb, then, click on Power Options a window will pop up, then click on Change Plan Settings for the power plan you have enabled, then, click on Change Advanced Power Settings, a small window will pop up again, then, scroll down to Processor power management, then click on Minimum processor state and here you want the figure to be 5% and not 100%. Do a reboot and your CPU's frequency will idle at 1.6ghz or 1.7ghz according to how much your overclock is. If your Minimum processor state is already at 5% then you need to clear your CMOS.
