Hi folks!

I like to hear your thoughts on this build. It is aimed toward cheap but rather nice and future proof.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dqxpP6

Case: Fractal Design Node 202 (aesthetics and size)

CPU: i5-4460 (cheapest quadcore Intel processor)

MOBO: Asus H97M (won't be overclocking, cheap, easy bios)

CPU cooler: Noctua NH-L9i (best cooler which will fit. Will use paste to overclock videocard)

GPU: EVGA GTX 960 4GB (4GB edition because of the increasing demand of gaming textures. Aimed towards 1080p gaming. Beefy cooler for nice overclock)

PSU: Be quiet SFX Power 2 400W (best bang for buck)

RAM: Cheapest DDR3 8GB Crucial kit

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB (Windows disk. Good reliability)

HDD: WD Blue 500GB 2,5 inch (best bang for buck)

Price: 850,-

Any advices on the hardware how i could further improve the build?

To the people yapping AMD cards, look at the case, you really want to put a maxwell in there.

@OP, You can also look at the Raven RVZ01

I'd rather have higher preformance and higher heat that less preformance and less heat. And yes I know what the case is /looks like.

380 doesn't consume more than 10W over the 960 so please just stop.

The motherboard you grabbed is a matx mobo not itx. So that won't work.

You might as well get the node 202 with the included 400W psu as that will save you a decent amount of money.

What is your location? You have in dollars, but that is what a german? site?

Can you people just please stop being so biased? The 960 uses half the power that the 285/380 uses.

In an ATX case this would've mattered less. The 202 is a really confined case.

380 > 960 (I think) also, go with a 1TB HDD at least.

I'm aimed towards Nvidia. You actually got a valid point with the HDD.

Snap! I'm lucky you saw that! Pcpartpicker displays in dollars. But i added links to the dutch site Tweakers. Thus the price is in euro's actually. :P

They don't sell the included 400w psu version in the Netherlands.

My bad, I was apparently thinking of something else (when I incorrectly thought the two were similar in power consumption.)

I don't think it matters personally, because you are expelling right out the well ventilated side, but it is something to take into consideration.

@OP the equivalent would be the h81i-plus or the h97i-plus (I believe the latter is a correct product name).

I would also discourage you from getting a 120 GB ssd as 240/250 varients can often be found for a mere 20 Euros more. (also there is no need to confine yourself to a 850 evo.)

Finally I do kinda doubt that a 500 gb WD HDD is actually the most cost effective option (in germany, it looks like it is the hitachi travelstar 1TB for 55 euros)

WD is generally pretty overpriced (except down under where its somehow the cheapest...)

Thought the same when I used my 670 in a Node304. The GPU also has a big vent next to it, but it got really hot. (85 deg) When it was 70-ish in a normal case.

And the 304 is huge compared to the 202, so it's even more confined.

Even a GTX 970 would be a better idea than any serious AMD card.

hmm, honestly I haven't had any issues with my itx 980 case (but perhaps that is due to aio cpu cooling, which does help alot for gpu temps in closed off areas.)

I don't know then. From a performance standpoint a 380 is notably better now, and as far as we can tell much much better later (BTW I'm not at all an AMD person whatsoever.... I just like to recommend the parts I believe to be best) so I don't know if that is worth the temps (if they are indeed an issue).

Go with this mobo instead H97I-plus. I just bought for my ITX build. It will work better and has on board m2 support on the mobo underside.
