So I have an Asus 7950... And whenever I sit down in my chair too suddenly (no I'm not overweight :P ) or drop something heavy on the floor, my GPU stops outputting any signal. My computer continues to run, but there's just no video output to the monitor. I assume it's some kind of precautionary device to stop the GPU from being damaged. The power connectors and display cables aren't loose, and it happens in both PCIe slots. I've tried it on another mobo and it happened on that too...   Is this normal? Has anyone else had this? It's really sensitive.

Do you hear a windows "pop" sound like a device was connected/disconnected?

If not, it would probably be your display and not your graphics card.

do you have another GPU to test with?

Also, maybe it's the monitor like @Ssoele said.

Maybe the power connector for the display?

The display itself is dodgy?

Maybe the video port you're using on either the 7950 or your monitor is not making proper contact due to some form of damage.

It could also be a damaged cord. Have you tried using a different type of video input?

Yes, it makes the disconnected device noise, but this happened with the last monitor I had too.

Not at the moment, but this never happened with my old GPU (with this mobo)

It happens with DVI as well, I'm using the Mini DP output at the moment, happened with both of them too. Reconnecting or changing to a different after its crashed doesn't help.

Is your GPU sagging? Does it make proper contact?

It sags a little, but this is only a fairly recent anomaly. As I said it happens in other mobo's with and other PSU's; the card and computer continue to run, but stops outputting anything.

Had it for about 11 months now, bought it from PC Case Gear

If it's from pc case gear and they made it don't you get their 1 year warranty, plus the individual manufacturer warranties?

Haver you tried putting in all the screws at the I/O plate? It seemed like only 1 screw was used.

If PC CASE GEAR assembled the components for you they give you a 1 year warranty on anything they build, plus you then get the warranties from the individual components manufacturers. like your HDD usually has a 2-3 year warranty you get that plus the PC CASE GEAR 1 year build warranty.

That's weird indeed. I have my PC under the floor right next to my chair. I would sometimes accidentally knock my chair on my PC or accidentally kicked on it but there's no GPU crash or anything similar.

There's only one, but that's easily enough to hold the GPU there when it's tight. This amount of vibration shouldn't cause it to crash.

Oh, right, I bought it from them, but I assembled the computer myself. The warranty on this GPU is 3 years IIRC.

All I need to do is restart. I'm emailing the retailer support in the morning, they're usually extremely helpful.

I would reseat the gpu to make sure it is inserted correctly and check that your monitor connections are inserted tightly.

It does seem like there is something loose, and when you move it, it crashes since its not sending the correct information for that split second that it is vibrating.

Try placing you case on its side, to use the weight of the card to keep it more secure on the PCI-e slot. then hit the table again and see what happens.

applypressure down on the graphics card after the PC is on its side and before you hit the table :D

please let me know what happens.
