Anything put on tv is state sponsored so someone in the communist party in China wants the ordinary Chinese person to know about bitcoins

Thoght this topic was about them mining bitcoins with their new super computer.

China is already a large player with bitcoins. They host dozens of nodes and a large amount of hash power does come from them.

Also their super computers wouldn't make much of a dent in hashing ;) They may be powerful but they're not designed with the SHA-256 algorithm in mind.

 

Bitcoins or some type of cryptocurrency is the next step for the future of money and the global economy. The smartest thing a country could do is raise awareness. Even if they don't support directly, by informing their citizens is a big step.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

apparently there were very few bitcoins users in China before this news clip above appeared on tv
