Newer Intel integrated graphics are very decent, actually. You can play most not-very-demanding games on them moderately smoothly at low settings and resolution.

Here's my Story: I was Playing TES V: Skyrim on my mid end PC when my older brother saw me and (Curious as he was) wanted to play on his Laptop. I tried explaining to him that it's impossible because he it was not a Gaming Laptop and thus does not have any Dedicated Graphics Card installed except for the Intel HD Graphics, but he keeps on forcing me to install it saying he once played Civilization V in it. (Funny cause I was the one who installed Civ on it too.) So long story Short, he's playing Skyrim at 30-40FPS at Low Settings with less than a dozen Mods running. You should have seen the look of my face when the Intro started. xD

 

PS. Is it just me or does TES V: Skyrim uses more system RAM rather than GPU RAM?

It's fine for 720p. 1080P, not so much.

I play Borderlands 2 with a buddy who uses a $250usd laptop and the graphics chipset. So I believe it.

 

Skyrim with every mod for textures I could find uses 1.7g of Vram and 2.3g of DDR3 when I play.

I knew it! I thought I was going crazy xD

I thought it could only play 2d Indie Games or something. I guess you learn new things everyday.

Are you sure? because I tried running the game at 1920x1080 and still got 25-30fps on low settings.

Exactly.

25 fps is a little low for me.

I like to be constantly above 30 (or small dips), so the average would have to be 35-40.

Welcome to the gamer nation. Less than 60fps=doesn't work LOL. We really do spend thousands so as to gain a few fps and some textures.

ALL HAIL THE PC MASTERRACE!!! Unless you're in a tight budget for a college laptop and you're also poor AF. !mbrace the High end Intel HD Graphics!

I guess some of us can't stand the sight of 25fps. hahaha :lol:

Unfortunately I brought a 144hz monitor and going down to 60 is cringe now let alone 30

I game on Intel HD 4600 graphics (profile has details ;) ) and it surprises me what games it can play and resolution too. With an overclock, it is even better. B)

the Intel 5000 on my MacBook plays bf4 on low to medium settings lol
