1st. Please use PcPartPicker

2nd. 390 trades blows with 970 not 380

Both perform within 5% of each other for the same price.

I would get 970 because game works features and lower power consumption if you're paying electric bills.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

Getting the 970 would not sacrifice any speed or power correct?

R9 390. - more than double the VRAM, usually equal or better performance than the 970

it does - you lose 5-10% depending on res and you lose 5.5GB of VRAM. Power consumption of the 390 is only 60W more. Your keyboard uses 10W. make the conclusion yourself.

Skyrim, GTA V, MGS V, Shadow of Mordor (uses 6.4 here :P), BF4, CoD Advanced Warfare. - I can keep going.

The 970 only has 3.5GB of VRAM and it will be an issue in future games considering the minimum is currently 2GB

Loving the amd bias hahaha.

What average user is going to be playing skyrim modded at 4k?

Thats a very low bracket to be in so instead of rubbishing a very good product.Open your eyes for a minute.I run bf4 on my 4k dell at high with my 970 and not a single time have i had framerate drops or stuttering.

If a 390 is cheaper buy it if a 970 is cheaper buy it.

Theres a reason nvidia holds 80+% market share

Yep - it's called consumer ignorance. Every non-tech-savvy person thinks Nvidia is better thanks to their superior marketing. As for the Skyrim - everyone I know mods the crap out of it and complains about crashing and stuttering - surprisingly - they have 2-4GB of VRAM. Skyrim is capable of eating even the Titan X's 12Gb of VRAM for breakfast.

BF4 Ultra uses about 3.5 GB of VRAM with the non-essential stuff in system RAM. You are probably getting a decent experience with occasional stutters/frame drops.

Or the fact that the vast majority of users havent had problems on nvidia. That is skyrim and that isnt optimised.Nvidia have done really well improving their drivers to make the 4gb vram not an issue anymore.

Another nvidia vs amd topic ? NICE !!

Nvidia- better optimisation and features like shadow play, game sharing, auto streamign without any programs

amd - more vram which means you can mod even more in Skyrim!! yahooo :D, and more vram means u still be able to play future games which I think will be using more than 3.5 gb ram

conclusion: Nvidia good ,amd good ,choos what you want ,nvidia with features but low vram or amd without features but longer term of use ( I mean time u will use it)

I don't know - the fact that a GTX 770 4G model has stuttering for a friend? When we looked at the VRAM usage it was 3.972MB
