What field of study would designing/making high end speakers be?

And it would have to do with physics, right?

Audio engineering? Yes it would be mainly physics and many maths.

Electrical engineering most likely with specialization in audio

I know this is a bit off topic, but do you guys think there is going to be a revolution within the audio engineering industry?
I mean something has to vibrate to make sounds, and the speaker design didn't see any drastic changes...

Or am I wrong?

I produce music!

No there won't be a revolution. Something has to vibrate and the bigger it is the more sound you have, you can't bend physics.

well technically you can bend physics if you can bend space and time

There is no reason to change as audio can't really get noticeably better from current high end speakers, at least with regards to human hearing limitations

No? Space and time is bent all the time and it's actually defined already.
