Paint with your gaze..

A robotic arm that can be controlled with your eyes has just painted its first picture. The arm uses an off-the-shelf eye-tracker to follow a person’s gaze, sending instructions to an industrial robot arm depending on how and where the painter looks. Faisal focused on gaze gestures that could control the robot seamlessly, in the same way as picking up objects without thinking about how to move your limbs. The commands are able to move the arm instantly using, for example, fixed gazes and sequences of prolonged blinks.

a person can get the robot arm to paint a horizontal line by staring at a start point and then an end point. Sabine Dziemian, a student who provided the eyes for the first creation, says that she didn’t need any training. “It feels natural to look where you want to draw,

Science had come so far.. i remember during my undergrad when i tried to make eye tracking for.. pressing buttons..It was so unreliable that it works once in 20 tries...and the processing was so slow.. that i captured the video that was sure to work and did stimulation in matlab... this can be used in various other application where a robot is necessary ...

I'm sure feminists will ban this for all men. You know because of the male gaze.

once we figure out how to turn peoples imagination into an image, eg you think it and its created then i can see a lot of artists going out of business

Most people have some crap imagination or none at all, so I don't see that happening any time soon.

It would be a revolution in self expression, not a devolution. Artists are able to comprehend the images in their minds more clearly then most people, so I would assume their creations are more clear and precise. (At least that's how I imagine it.)

oh it would be a revolution, im just saying it would be harder for artists to be in business making money, since you know the barrier of entry is lower. same way photography is now alot harder to work in because alot more people are able to try it, you still have professionals you succeed but the ratio of success to failure changes as the competition increases.
