GTX 970 vs 780ti

Hello, let me begin by saying im aware of the 1gb Vram difference in the 780ti, however, it seems to not be an issue for the games i plan to play (arma 3, dark souls, gta, as well as some of the upcoming games this and next year).  I understand thatt he 780ti is kinda expensive, but for the sake of the question, please imagine them the same price (dont worry, they are near the same price range).  I plan to play games at 1080p high-ultra settings.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I can just say that my 780ti runs almost every game I own (which is most) at 1440p 60 Ultra just fine

Can you get the R9 390 for around the same price? its better than both and if you're already comparing the 780 ti to 970 i'm assuming you don't care about power draw that much.

Aww, You're loss. Honestly I'd go for a 780ti and overclock it for even better performance.

But you also have to take into account GameWorks Titles, they are very Maxwell biased and the 970 will perform slightly better (Examples include Witcher 3, Far Cry 4, Project Cars, etc.)

Also, things to note: This was using the launch drivers for the 970 & 980. I would expect the numbers for the 970 and 980 to be slightly lower than what you would get now +5% to 10%

Okay, this might suit you better than. These are benched from Crysis 3, Metro Last Light, Battlefield 4, and Bioshock Infinite

lol, it means that the 970 is a little bit faster than what the benchmarks show.

So either way, they are close cards with performane.

Okay, I'd go for it. But before you do make sure the PC/Components your're using/getting can support it.

I believe a i5 (non k) - i7 cpu, 16gb ram can handle it, right?

Yep, any brand is fine. I'm a bit of an EVGA fanboy myself, but my experience with using Zotac cards has been pretty good

Im usually the same, but for this price, im giving it a try
