it records 720p video. read the article again. do you realize what 2mp is? 

1080p=1920*1080= 2073600 which is about 2mp.

720p=1280*720=921600 which is about 1mp. 

this can take photos at a resolution of about 1080p

This is a pretty interesting idea but I don't think it will be popular. If you do this in public, people will think you are weird looking at the bottom of the mouse and smiling at it. :D

Yes I do know what 2mp means and that you can take 1080p pictures/video but looking at the specs I got the idea that it was limited to 720p. Still my original point remains, it's fake because it's only 800x600 :p

Only the first 20 seconds of the videos I think might be useful. If you don't have a scanner close by, being able to snapshot a part of a book or something and it goes trough the computer directly, can be useful. Even if you have a scanner ... its slow as ****. Of course a full page would not work well with 2mp I think.

 

Stew is right, there is no way to have a fast transfer of pictures straight to the PC yet.
