Headset vs. Speakers?

CC268

I don't have any speakers for the build I am going to be doing and I am wondering if you guys prefer speakers or a headset for gaming? I figured it would be nice to get a decent set of speakers for my build.

For gaming I prefer headphones, but when I am lazy I use my speakers.

I think it's great to get both, so you can relax in your chair and watch movies when you're not gaming whilst using speakers :]

I just mainly use my headset and have monitor speakers if I ever want to hear aloud(people say they're bad but I don't mind)

I do exactly the same. I don't have space for a seperate pair of speakers and I was surprised when I found out that my LG monitor had speakers. :P

But if I had to choose I would pick headphones or a headset. The usually provide better sound, are easier to set up and need less space.

I have my headset only for Skype... or for listening to music at night.

My speakers (2.1) are pretty good and have a nice kick to their bass, making explosions in games a real joy.

Thanks for the feedback - I figured it would be best to get both.

Several pairs of headphones (Logitech and Razer for gaming, all depends on my mood for which, and Pioneer for music listening), and 50W Logitech speakers for laziness/ear strain from wearing headphones for so long.

Headphones for competitive gaming as you can hear more subtle noises with the driver right next to your ear.

Speakers are better for everything else, even casual gaming.

I prefer speakers for almost everything that I do since they are the most comfortable (no ear warmers and/or dangling cables). I don't use Headphones and IEMs for extended periods.

Speakers>headphones.

But that is just me.

Speakers can give bigger impact and experience.

And also the same reason as the guy above nothing weighting down on my head, no ear warmers, don't worry about cable mass.

Just kick back, relax and flow with the speakers.

However i do use headphone while watching movies pass 3am. Would't want to wake up my family as they are light sleepers.

Speakers

Why?

Surround

Not on my head

No wires on my head

You can feel the music in your body, not just your ears

Explosions are explody
