faster than the 750 series sweet. Shame that there isn't a 1tb model, not that I can afford it anyway...

I guess everyone will be going NVMe tbh. NVMe is way faster then SATA.

NVMe can't be faster than SATA.

SATA is a bus interface while NVMe is a protocol :P

So in this case:

SATA vs. M.2

AHCI vs. NVMe

They aren't ditching sata, I believe they also announced a 4TB sata ssd.

Damn shame. I would need to get a better CPU to access more CPU lanes on my x99 mobo before I can use M.2

Exactly. SATA will be around for at least the next 5 years. I mean there are still IDE drives and adapters and that stuff is long gone.

Apart from that SATA has still the smallest storage interface on a motherboard. PCI-e and M.2 take currently too much space.
