Gigabyte G1 980TI - Coil Whine?

CC268

So...ordering my 980TI this morning. I think I am going to go with the MSI 980TI as it has awesome reviews. However, the other card I am interested in is the Gigabyte card - but holy cow I can't believe how many people complain about coil whine with this card. I am kind of scared to buy one as I have seen a lot of people RMA 2-3 of these cards.

Should I just stick with the MSI?

My MSI 980 Ti had a little whine - however I do sit next to my case and could only hear it if I put my head next to the side panel.

It will vary from card to card - but a small amount is inevitable in actual usage. I'd say just get whatever card you want, but from a retailer like Amazon with a good returns policy incase it does whine too annoyingly.

Coil whine can affect any brand,so go for the card you like.

But they're most common on g1 basing on complaints.
