Not to be 'that guy' but get an I5 and a different board entirely.

If you've already got the CPU then get the Gigabyte.

If you're gonna OC, I wouldn't recommend a board with the 970 chipset.

My rig: Intel Core i7-8700K OC 4.8 | NZXT Kraken X62 | ASUS Z370-F | 16 GB Trident Z RGB 3000 (2x8) | EVGA 1070 SC | EVGA SuperNova NEX650G1 | NZXT H700 | Samsung 250GB 850-EVO | 2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDDs

they both dont really jingle my bells, but the gigabyte seems a bit better.

just give us a price please.

Please don't go with AMD if your heart is set, the gigabyte board.

if he's asking for an AMD board, we should give him an AMD board.

if he was asking for build advice, i'd probably look into squeezing an i5 in the budget as well :P

Don't get an AMD FX CPU.

If you are going to buy it anyway and there is nothing we can do, get the Gigabyte Board then, it's the best out of those 2. It's tried and tested, has gone through lots of revisions and bios versions, has all the features you may need, including good VRM heatsinks (which the Asrock doesn't have).

What motherboard would you reccomend out of the

ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0

and the

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P

???

im going to get the fx 8320 and the r9 380

probably will overclock in the future

Or any other recomendations? for around 50-60

usb 3.0 will be needed to.

If you are getting the FX 8320 or you already have it and you want to overclock it is imperative that you get a 990FX board. None of those cheaper ones will suffice to keep up with the power need by that processor. It is risky even at stock speeds. The FX 83XX Series are designed for 990FX boards because of their power delivery designs. If you are on a budget and you really need  to buy a cheaper board, I would recommend just buying an FX6300. Going with something like an Intel Core i3 is also not a such a bad idea considering the a lot higher IPC of those processors.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here
