so would it be on the same system or on 2 different ones of the same specs, from what it seems is that it will be on the same system but i want to be sure

We would be running 2 instances per system so 4 instances total on 2 identical systems.

ok, also do you need an OS?

a few fps doesn't mean it owns it

2 instances from the same PC? Hmmm - if it's a single-core dependent game then you only need 2 cores - correct me if I'm wrong. The 4460 is probably the best price:performance CPU currently but like others have said - you can OC your current CPU for a gain of around 40% more horses.

Yeah, thats the problem i have run into,

This PC im using at the moment is my media PC its a G3258 oc'd to 4.2 ghz, it can only run 1 instance game takes 90% usage, if i launch a second instance they both stay functional but not at the fps im looking for.

over 9FPS in most games is quite a leap.

So i picked up a G3258 awhile back for a media pc, and i decided to play around with it, so i have it running at 4.2 ghz paired with 8 gigs of ram and the gtx 650 for now and im getting way more FPS then i want on a single instance of the game 70-150 FPS on extreme quality. however this maxes out the CPU so running a second instance is null in void.

Seems like your cpu has enough juice, why dont you just launch 2 instances and set 1 instance to cpu 1 and the other to cpu 2?

Without sounding sarcastic, lol

I dont know how to do that, and if one instance takes up 90% usage of both cores would it even be possible to run it like that?

also if you live near a microcenter you can get an i5 4590 for $160 so i would advise going to microcenter and get it if you do live near one, also you might be able to run 2 instances on an i3 at your wanted fps since it has 4 threads, but i'm not completely sure

Pentium isn't worth - Athlon 860K is a quad core version of the pentium essentially. Same horse power but 4 threads. The game probably uses 2 cores and that's why the pentium gets maxed out. i5 4460 is your best bet for price:performance.

My personal preference would be the 270X since it has A-sync compute enabled on it but 950 is also good.

well my reason for it is, since he said that the pentium and gtx 650 got around 100+ fps, and the 950 is significantly better then it, so it will be able to play the game, just fine even at 1440p with dsr for his wife as he stated, but yeah the 270x would be fine too

Haha - they have had it since the 290X launch in 2013 - I've tried it. Witcher 3 1440p max settings hairworks off. I got 20 fps ^_^

True - but If I set everything to high I can still get 30 fps @ 1440p :P - I think that's more than a 960 :D

i'm not sure, since the 280 was pretty neck and neck against the 760 and the 960 is a slightly tweaked/improved 760, but i dont have one so i cant tell you

Seeing your discussion,

i know price wise the 950 is the better deal but i think for 20-50 bucks more having the extra power of the 960 would be safer, is there a big difference between the 2gb and 4gb version i havnt really seen alot of stuff on the 4gb versions.

it depends on the game and resolution also the difference is very small between them, but if your willing to step up i'd advise you to get either the 280 for $170 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9280atdfd

the 280x for $190
