IPS display with 5ms or TN with 2ms?

DvDGamer

So, my monitor just died today and I need a replacement, it was a shitty 7 year old monitor.

In my search for a new monitor I came across several monitors for around 150€.

My doubt is wether i go for an IPS display with a reponse time of 5ms or a TN panel with 2ms.

I play mainly CS:GO so I want a good response time but I don't know if the 3ms difference is noticeable .

Sorry for my bad english.

IPS with even 8ms is a good deal.

The way I understands it, is that at 200fps so is 5ms the same as 1 frame delay and at 100fps so is 5ms half a frame delay.

So there is no way you will notice it normally.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

If you are only playing games like CSGO...then you may want choose 1ms because yes, you can tell the difference. Although if you will play some other game like RPGgame ,ips is way better in color.

You guys are mixing up pixel response time with input lag. Pixel response time is 1 - 10 ms and affects ghosting. Input lag can be anywhere from 1 ms to more than 30 ms and is the more important measure for what we typically think of as reaction time. As far as I know (could be wrong), input lag is not affected by panel technology.

Check out the difference here: http://www.logicalincrements.com/peripherals/index.html#standardscreen

for the 10000000th time....

TN is SHIT

Do NOT pay a single penny for a TN.  Advertised response times ARE A FUCKING LIE - so they can keep peddling this trash to "GAYMERS"

And idiots who fall for this then keep defending their garbage for the rest of their miserable IPS-less lives. Because they spent the money - sad. Doesnt mean YOU have to buy garbage on their behalf.

You`ll never see a difference in motionblur between TN and IPS. Cuz all LCD`s suck @ this.

If you want GOOD response times you want CRT or OLED. One is dead, the other wayyyy too expensive and filled with bloat.
