Need for speed delayed for PC coming "spring 2016"

werto165

Other platforms like PS4 and xbox one will release at their previously stated release date of november 3rd in the US and 5th in Europe.

"Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016. Our PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release dates will remain the same, starting November 3, 2015 in North America and November 5 worldwide."

"This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one."

have they tied the frame rate to the physics engine again? It's a possibility, PC is very much so last thought when it comes to EA, I'm basing this off the fact that they didn't even have working mouse and keyboard support for mirrors edge catalyst when I tried it at gamescom, then again I don't think it's too far-fetched to get the platform with the most players working first. Also interested to see what they'll bring to the table with the increased visuals

to deliver this? wtf?

You mean your game is that poorly optimized that disabling a frame rate lock takes months? They can't have tied it to physics, no one that stupid...are they?

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

they sorted it eventually I think but I'm not too sure, I haven't played a NFS game on PC or in a while for that matter.

They tied FPS to gameplay in Rivals. Man I thought they learned their lesson.

this seems to be the new way for game publishers to make more money, they simply delay the game on pc with the excuse of optimizing it better for pc, then allow the people with consoles to buy it first, and release it on pc after few months with some new feature or better graphics/frame rate, etc. and hope people who bought it on console would end up buying it again on pc =.=

I think devolpers work with Sony and Microsoft and purposely release games later on PC so then it adds another reason to buy a console. This is fucking rediculous to have a delay like to unlock the fucking framerate.

PC is much harder to optimise for, well just look at arkham knight, it performed like poop on a lot of systems including mine(however that's probably due to it being neglected and iron galaxy were given such a short time to get a working PC version), I had to run it a 720p low to stop frame rate drops into the 15's. I would much rather have a PC game that runs perfectly than a PC game that runs like shit.

They knew it ran like shit but still released it. Then stopped selling it on PC so then people with a ps4 or xbone would buy it on that system.

Im okay with a this imho. I rather wait an extra 6 months and have a good experience then an shitty unoptimized piece of crap on launch date.... AKA 99% of games these days.

Unlocked FPS cap GREAT!

and also: "This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one."

Let's agree to disagree
