so i was wondering after coming across the psu tiers on toms hardware why do they give the rm series such a bad rating i have not had any problems with it yet. also should i be worried about having any problem with it when i add titan x and full water cooling loop

It 

RM Psu's are in the okay ish line of Corair but there are better psu's for the same money.

It should be fine.

RM are overpriced for what they are - bad secondary capacitors and some rookie soldering mistakes by CWT - Get Antec High Current Gamer

what about rmi because i would like to have that silence feature on the psu

RMi are SeaSonic but for that price you can get an actual SeaSonic-branded unit like the X-series.

EVGA Supernova, they have eco modes(quiet) too.

not all EVGA are good though - G2, B2, P2 and GS are - G1, B1 and NEX are bad

Well yes, for the Supernova the 2 series are the best.

i still haven't had any issues with my rm psu yet (knock on wood) i don't really want to spend more money right now considering im buying a new gpu new case and full custom loop

All I will say is that I wouldn't trust CWT (guys who made RM unit) with a Titan X

Seasonic hardly make anything for Corsair these days. Most of the corsair range is CWT.

Right, the actual topic: The RM series is OK, but not great and quite overpriced. The RMi series is not much better. An EVGA G2/GS/P2/PS would be better, and the P2 and PS families has the silent-mode thing. Seasonic's X Series are also great and have the fanless mode, or their Platinum Fanless line has no fan altogether but not in capacities as high as 1kW :)
