i hate these kind of threads because it makes me want to make people realize laptops are so overpriced that its not even funny..... for $1500 youre getting the performance of a desktop at like $700-$900.

Preferably I would like it to be 1 inch max with a bit of wiggle room.

Well I already have a desktop, but I need something portable. If you think I should get something cheaper recommend something.

And statements like this make me want to make people realize that hardware specs are just one of the important aspects of a laptop.

Thin laptop / desktop combo is the way to go. i have a ux305 from asus and its amazing for what it is, amazing for word processing and internet browsing. It's really portable around 8 hours of battery life, it can even do really light gaming, (terraira, minecraft). It cant play any new games. which is why i have a desktop at home. :)

Now that desktop isn't portable now is it? Some people like to have one machine instead of two ie a gaming laptop instead of a thin and light notebook and a desktop. its not all about how powerful it is anyway.

Sorry but I have to do more demanding tasks with my laptop. So, I need something more powerful.

Well how much power do you need. What are you planning to use it for?

You can get a custom built clevo with a 970m and a 4720hq for around 1250 in the us. That should do the job if you don't mind it turning off after 90 minutes away from the wall.

Honestly you can find a nice 600$ thing with a mobile core i3/i5 and something like a 840m on a 720p display that will give you MUCH better battery life and you can game on it if you really want to when you are away from your pc.

Thanks! [emoji1] but is there a option with better battery.

Battery life on the higher end notebooks is garbage due to the hardware contained within them. The dedicated cards can never be fully turned off due to how pcie works so they have to be turned on draining power. The 45W cpus dont help either. Battery life will not be good on any of the higher end notebooks. if you want OK battery life (4-5) hours a 970m is the best option.

Just found this:

http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-blade-fullhd

Is it any good?

Its not the best for the money spec wise, but it has a way better form factor than a lot of the other gaming laptops. If you want something for that $1000-1500 range, a lenovo y50 or asus g55 are pretty good for the price
