Very poor bf4 performance windows 10?

So my setup is now a 4790k @4.5Ghz, 12gb 1333Mhz ram, and a R9 290x Tri-x. When running battlefield on ultra (no aa) I'm getting 40 to 60 fps! at 1080p!! this card used to push 90fps on BF4 so I'm guessing it's because of the windows 10 update I did? or what? cause this is ridiculous and fyi gpu is at %100 the whole time and cpu is at %80

Mem leak?

It may be that since I have a cheap 8gb stick with a 4gb Gskillz stick combined

Origin and BF4 recently received new updates...

  • Summer Patch for BF4 with the new "Night Operations" expansion with "fixes."
  • Origin has received two (?) updates in the last week or so...

I don't know what drivers you are using for your 290X, but give the newer ones a try -- especially 15.7.1, or 15.8 Beta, as they are Windows 10 release drivers.

 

 

 

Mem leak?

 

There were reports of Memory leak with Windows 10 for the first few weeks after launch, it those seemed to have been patched since then.

I have been on Windows 10 for about two weeks now, and no memory leak issues thus far.

I'm on 15.7.1 At the moment

 

Hmm...Windows 10 hasn't released any new updates yet since KB3081448 on Agust 28, 2015.

 

I am running a different GPU than you, two HD 7970's instead, but I'll start up BF4, and see if I, too, run into any performance issues.

 

 

** Mind you, Battlelog / Origin was acting up last evening...

was this a clean install of 10?

or did you only do the upgrade

do the clean install first

then we can see if that solved the problem

 

I am running a upgrade version of Windows 10 (it updated my Windows 7 Ultimate to 10 while I was away from my computer...), and I am not getting the issues @Matriox is observing.

 

IMO, try some or methods before giving up, and doing a clean install -- some of the hassle, and time a clean install requires.

maybe not but...10 really should be clean installed after the upgrade to lessen any problems..so many people on here have problems with 10 cause they only did the upgrade

What BF4 server are you playing on?

Can you send me a link the THAT server?

The issue may be related to the hosting server...

I was playing on the campaign. The first mission to be exact and everywhere I go the framerate tanks except for a few instants
