Is this PC cool and good enough for 1440p?

Ok so here is my parts:

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W G2

GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming

Case: Fractal Design R5 Window Panel

MOBO: MSI Z97A GAMING 7

RAM: HyperX Beast DDR3 2400MHz 16GB 2x8

CPU: i7-4790k

CPU-Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61

Harddrive: WD Black 2TB

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB

-----------------------------------------

Is the cooling good enough?

Do i need more fans?

Any things that doesn't work/fit?

Will this allow smooth 1440p gaming?

Will there be space in the case for SLI?

Is the power supply to big?

Is Define R5 good enough for future upgrades?

Any other suggestions?

Perfect build. As for 1440p, the 980ti will run most games these days with decent frame rates.

The case has enough space for SLI but depending on the price, the Phanteks Enthoo Pro is a good alternative :)

The PSU is just about right, but I am confident that the 850W G2 from EVGA is more than capable even with overclocking.

everything is very good and will last you a few years.

dont get a 1000w psu though, its overkill and you could save a  few pennies.

case wise you looked that the define s? its not got any drive bays and the ssd and hdd will be installed behind the motherboard tray to give it a a cleaner look.

if you need a disk drive it wont be any good but if you dont have one its a perfect case.

if you want pics i can show you some.

1: Cooling looks OK to me.

2: Probably not.

3: Nope, everything should fit fine.

4: You should be able to get 1440p 60fps at high-ultra in most games.

5: SLI should be no problem

6: Nope.

7: Yeah, it's a great case.

8: Downgrade your PSU to 850W, it's perfectly sufficient for SLI in the future with some moderate overclocking to boot.

Hope I helped  :)

Everything looks good. 1000w is a tad overkill but stick with it. 980Ti SLI minimum 850w, even then just get it to avoid issues and allow for so,e big overclocks.

Have fun with the build.

They did say they might want to SLI and the 1000w will allow for overclocking.

cpu cooler is one of the best if not the best aio, 850 watts is sufficient for 980ti sli, i believe 100 watts more than needed.

Seriously though, 850W should be allright for 980Ti SLI and moderate OCs. The Kraken X61 is a great cooler and the cooling in general is fine for your build. Enjoy it :)

Yeah 850w SHOULD be fine. But a so many new GPUs and CPUs coming out in 2016 you never know. NVidias pascal being as powerful as they are suppose to be could require a 1000w PSU for SLI. Not saying it will but it could happen. Same with AMDs Artic Islands.

If you want silence or more airflow fet more fans and a step up from that cooler is probably gonna be a custom loop.

1000 is way more than enough.

If not overclocking 850w would be fine, it's just overclocking likes lots of power
