I was recently building my first gaming pc,i was thinking about buying one of those fancy 144hz monitor.

And i came across these monitor-BenQ XL2411Z and AOC G2460PQU

The difference i notice is that the benq monitor have flicker-free but the AOC dont have it.

Does it real works or it just one of the marketing strategies??

And does it affect my gameplay?

It doesn't really help unless you already know you get eye strain from flickering. When enabling blur reduction it will start flickering anyways since it goes back to strobe-light

CPU: I7 4790K(4.6@1.252v)                               Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed(Black)           Cooler: CM 212 EVO + NF F12 iPPC

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

MoBo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger                      Graphics: MSI GTX 970 TwinFrozr (1494MHZ Core)       OS: Windows 10 Enterprise

do you notice any flickering from your current monitor (which is probably PWM)?

if not, then you will be fine with the AOC

only some people are really sensitive to PWM backlighting

It's weird. My Acer Predator XB280HK was flickering when LOW FPS like during load times but my Acer XB270HU doesn't do that.

Maybe because of TN vs IPS?

Open your eyes and break your chains. Console peasantry is just a state of mind.

I have never personally seen a panel flicker except for the CRT monitors, but when recording the screen with a device such as a phone, it will show noticeable flicker, which may be uncomfortable for few people, but is generally not a problem

Well might be just a issue when loading games, because the screen sometimes doesn't change at all for a few seconds.
