Looking for a video editor for simple editing work

Ozpa

Hello everyone!

Sometimes I have video files that I need to do (very) simple editing in (delete some parts, append new ones - that kind of work). I was using VirtualDub a while back and it worked perfectly but it doesn't work with .mp4 or .mkv so I did a little research and got avidemux which lots of people recommended. "It works" but it also crashes a lot, it just crashed again after I was editing an .avi for 20 minutes and wanted to save my work. F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-I-N-G.

I'd love if you could suggest a video editor for me (both paid and free is fine) that is as light as possible and works with all today's video formats (well at least avi, mkv, mp4, wmv, flv). Thanks in a dvance!

Sony Vegas works really well, it's pretty simple yet you can do a lot with it if you take the time to learn some advanced features, also it works with every file type.
