A used budget CPU

So after overclocking my GPU +200 Memory and +75 Boost Clock I found my benchmarks received no benefits at all. Actually in furmark my score was LESS.

My specs are in my profile. The overclock was stable. So I dimmed the overclock down to +100 Memory +20 Boost Clock.

I am looking for a budget CPU used from eBay or something. What are some nice CPUs that go for decent prices on eBay? Was looking at the i5-2500(k) w/ a Z77 Mobo. Problem with this is id run into a problem with my PSU but I've got that covered.

I won't know for SURE if I am gonna do this until I get my Step Dads, Mothers old computer who would custom build them, the thing hasn't been on in like 4 years. No idea what's in it at all.

Well if you look on eBay, The 2500k Go for around $100 sometimes less sometimes more. Z77 Motherboards I've seen go for less then $50-$60

I have a 2700k I no longer need I was going to make a build with it if you are interested let me know, I bought an ATX board to fix it up later on. If you plan on using anytime soon be my guest and contact me.

yeah i5 2500k is excelent. if you don`t want to oc or you can`t find it search for i5 2400,i5 3470,3350p + b75,p67,h77 ,z77 board.  if you get a z77 you can OC locked cpus(non-K) 4 bins above turbo. thats enough. 2400 would go to 3.8 ,3470 4.0 ghz etc

 

with haswell you can`t do it anymore
