Hello guys I was wondering why My msi 4g 970 clocks from 1114mhz to 1329mhz by itself, while I on the website http://ca.msi.com/product/vga/GTX-970-GAMING-4G.html#hero-overview it says boost clock to 1279, this card overclocks to 1329 in every game. and I do not want that to happen. what should I do????

does it become unstable or does it overheat?

because if it doesn't cause any problems i wouldn't worry about it.

May I ask why you don't want it to happen? Are your temperatures OK, and your card stable?

You could just download MSI Afterburner and set your clock speed manually, but if you're going to do that I'd rather recommend you pushed it further, not clocked it lower. As some others said, 970's can often go much further than that.

the temperatures are fine, its just that this causes texture pop ins in some games therefore I don't want to experience and come across any issue of that kind

i doubt that causes it. texture glitches come from memory speeds not core clock.

I've never heard of an overclock causing pop-in. If it's unstable it may create graphical artifacts, such as stretched out geometry, lines, or mis-coloration, or simple driver crashes.

Texture pop-in is usually a symptom of a poorly optimized game. In particular, a lot of Ubisoft's recent releases (Watch Dogs, AC: Unity, and Far Cry 4 come to mind) have been known for extremely jarring asset pop-in.

But as I said earlier, if you want to reduce your clock speed you can do so with a tool like MSI Afterburner.

Texture pop in is usually due to a poor performing drive, depending on the solution they use. With batman arkham knight anyway a lot of issues were solved by moving the game from my HDD to my SSD, probably just due to the game being badly optimised,
