I noticed that my SSd used to read and write about 450-500MBPS both ways and now I read about 420 and write about 150. Is this correct or is something messing up. i have owned my SSD for a while now so its had its fair share of use.

Does it support TRIM? If not, then that is why. TRIM is used to keep the SSD running at like new speeds always.

SSD's do get slower over time, I'm also noticing that with my Vertex 3....

It would be nice if you could give us more details such as what ssd you are using?, if you are using it as a boot drive or secondary storage drive?, is it in a raid array?, what OS are you using?

SanDisk Extreme 120GB sanforce, Boot drive, No raid, Win7 sp1 64-Bit.

You should have TRIM enabled I don't think thats the problem you could always check if you want, both the SSD and the OS support it.

AHCI should be enabled at the BIOS. It might just be that the drive is almost full, some drives take a temporary performance hit when they fill up.
