Sol Laptop

So, I searched through real quick, but didn't see anything on this: http://mobile.solaptop.com/index.html (sent from my phone since power is down...)

Just something my friend showed me, probably because his dad works on solar cells. It runs ubuntu, and more specs will be released later.

 

CPU - FX 8320 @ 4.8 GHz

| MoBo - Sabertooth 990FX | GPU - XFX Radeon HD 7870 GHz Ed. @ 1.075 GHz | CPU Cooler - H100 | RAM - 16 GB Dual Channel Vengeance @ 1600 MHz (didn't care to push these...) | OS - Windows 8 Pro | Storage - OCZ Vertex 3 (120 GB Boot), Samsung 830 Pro 64 GB, WD Black 1 TB, some random 320 GB from a laptop | PSU - CM Silent Hybrid Pro 850W (MDPC Sleeving) | Case - 800D | Monitors - ASUS V238H/ X Star DP2710LED | Mouse - M90 | Keyboard - CM Quickfire Rapid w/ custom key caps

Possibly one of the nicest looking laptops out there. The military-like look to it is interesting, looks like it will be quite solid and it will be 350 dollars so not too bad for a laptop just to have on the go.

im looking at the specs

and 350$ seems like an amazing price

i wish if they made a baytrail version of the laptop

Yeah, where'd you get that price? I saw one site say it would cost less than $550. At that price, I'd even get one!

It has the look of the Asus TUF series don't you think?

How the hell is $300 not wildly affordable?! It's pretty damn cheap for such a product tbh depending on the specs, which if the article is true is pretty impressive, 10 hour battery with a HD screen?

Edit: "The Sol will cost just $350 — or $400 if you want a submersible, waterproof model." Is it just me or does this sound like one hell of a laptop?

Can it only be charged by the sun? Does anyone know if it comes with a plug charger?

My Rig: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.5 Ghz, Corsair H100i, Gigabyte gtx 770 4gb, 8 gb Patriot Viper 2133 mhz, Corsair C70 (Black), EVGA Supernova 750g Modular PSU, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard, Asus next gen wifi card.
