Why do people keep saying that Canada's prices are higher than America's? Sometimes they can be a bit higher, sometimes they can be a bit lower, so where is this bull coming from? I mean, if you compare Newegg.com's prices to Newegg.ca's prices, the Canadian prices are just the American prices converted to whatever the CAD equivalent was atm and rounded to the nearest 5.99/9.99.

The reason Newegg.ca is just US prices converted to CAD is because they're a US based company. They also have the prices converted to GBP for their "UK" store, but it still ships from the US.

The prices in Canada are higher, but only if you actually compare prices in Canada with prices in the US, not stores like Newegg which are US only stores that ship to other places.

EDIT: For PC hardware, the prices aren't too bad. At least, not in comparison with Australia and the UK. But for services, Canada has much higher prices, or worse services for the same money, at least from what I've seen.

For some things its pretty even, for others it really isn't. The gtx 950 launched at $149USD, the same card at Canadian retailers was $259CAN. It has since gotten somewhat better in this particular case

Intel 4670K /w TT water 2.0 performer, GTX 1070FE, Gigabyte Z87X-DH3, Corsair HX750, 16GB Mushkin 1333mhz, Fractal R4 Windowed, Varmilo mint TKL, Logitech m310, HP Pavilion 23bw, Logitech 2.1 Speakers

But Newegg.ca to present prices from Canada. I actually checked compared some prices between Newegg.ca and Newegg.com and most of time the Canadian prices were slightly cheaper.
