Why the close price from GTX 950 to GTX 960

YT2002

In Australia you can get the 950, but it is so expensive. Here is the cheapest 950: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1788&products_id=33068 and here is the cheapset 960: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1732&products_id=30580 Not much difference in price

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

In other regions, the 950 is close to the R9 270X and the 960 is close to the R9 280 or so.

Yes but the 950 is $20 difference than the 960. Some 950s are actually more expnesive than the 960

May have something to do with conversion rates? Price difference on amazon here in the us is about $40.

Because NVIDIA doesn't understand the budget market, unlike AMD (no offense).

Well, GTX 950 is brand new. At that point any product is going to be at the very peak of it's price ever. The second batch will be cheaper. Also, EVGA is well known for being one of the more expensive manufacturers. If an EVGA is the cheapest one there's likely some problems with availability among Asus, MSI, Zotac and so on.

there's about a 30 euro difference in the Netherlands, of course there are some cheaper and more expensive variations of both cards, so they do come close to each other sometimes..

Here in Italy there's an average of 30€ difference between the 950 and the 960. .-.

Just bought my brother an MSI GTX 750 for just 109€... that was a really good deal.
