Intel for sure. 9590 is really not a good CPU

Intel, definitely. but I might recommend a 380 over a 960. it's more a driver level thing though so it's up to you.

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

With that budget, get a 4790K or Skylake.

And I think you can do better.

Buying your parts from one vendor is not a good idea.

Where do you live?

I wouldn't get a Xeon for gaming, I would get an i5 4690k

If you go for AMD for gaming, don't get an 8 core, get a quadcore or 6 core. (I wouldn't suggest AMD for gaming anyway unless your budget is really low.)

A Xeon for gaming when you could get a different CPU which would be much better for gaming? Like how could you pass up a 980ti? You can get Windows 8 off of G2A or reddit or something for like 30 bucks. https://www.g2a.com/windows-8-professional-32-64-bit-cd-key-global.html and upgrade to Windows 10 for free.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($317.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($145.89 @ OutletPC)
Case: NZXT S340 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($68.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $1505.60
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Why not get the Xeon, its an i7 without overclocking. @Comic_Sans_MS

An I5 is an I7 that has no hyper-threads

And it can still overclock

The only games that would benefit from the Xeon are heavily multi-threaded games

No, It is not.

i5's are i7's without hyperthreading and still unlocked.

Xeons are for workstations, not gaming computers!

I know, I was working on a build for a friend and I found out the cheapest Z97 motherboard @ PCCaseGear was $179.

Aren't I glad that I didn't go down the intel path!

I got told that the Xeon would do similar performance to an i7 for what I am doing at this price range.

Xeons are different, they are not aimed for the general public (They can still game, but that is not what they are made for.)

i5's are very close to i7 specs and performance wise, the main difference is that the i5 doesn't have hyperthreading.

In fact i5's are identical to i7's but they are the reject ones! (There are some that supposed to be i5's too though)
