I need help!

Froste

I need to order my graphics card by tomorrow and I just can't decide what to order. I have an all white/black build with a budget of about 400$ for my graphics card. The Galax gtx 970 hof at 380$ is sexy as hell and I was just about to order. But at the same time the r9 390 looks to be faster at this point (overclocked even 1080p?) Which Should I go for I just can't decide? Sorry for asking the question everyone is asking right now but I'm really stuck on what to order.

P.S, Are any of the r9 390's compatible with the kraken g10?

I don't think how the card looks like is going to matter if you are trying to fit a kraken G10. You will remove the cooler anyway. NZXT says the kraken is compatible with the 200 series but I'm not sure about the 300 series.

according to the specs looks like no 390 is compatible only the 290x

but i would go with the 390 over the 970

970 i'd say over 300 series. it's just not as hot as the others so you can OC it even more.

The 390s have the same mounting holes as the r9 290, so the compatability should be the same.

Its just a rafreshed r9 290 anyways.

The Windforce R9 290 from Gigabyte was a reference PCB, and I had a kraken on there.

Google around to see if the 390/x is the same.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Well you can't really go wrong with either so.... Guess it will depend on which is cheaper and what features you like. Don't really have much to say on overclocking for these cards. Both don't really scale well on higher voltages for overclocking...
