My Toshiba Satellite L350 has an Athlon X2 and the temp is peaking at 80C. This laptop hasn't been turned on in 5 years because it was believed that the CPU was fried after reaching 101C, sooo temperature is a massive concern right now. The motherboarding is hovering around 65 and the HDD peaked at 41. Is all of this safe? Is there any DIY way to cool it if necessary? Also, the HDD currently doesn't have a cover, lol

I can't tell whether it's safe.

1) It looks like the cover that was mentioned on your previous topic is fine - are you going to order one?

2) I'd try taking it apart then cleaning and repasting the CPU and cooler.

Sig under construction.

Being a mobile Athlon it should be perfectly fine at those temperatures. However as suggested before, clean the heatsink and fans, then apply new thermal paste. It made a massive difference to the Phenom II X4 in my HP Pavilion DV6 3010AX.
