I was wondering what people think of their strix 980ti as i am getting one next week and would like to know if it is silent and no coil whine etc. and if you have compared it to other manufacturers.

Well if I was to answer the question, I'd probably just refer you to a review or something lol.

Like this: I'd do a quick search to see if anyone was complaining about coil whine, and I'd check out this review ([spoiler=]http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti,4164.html

Read reviews they usually help

then compare the reviews and find out what % of the defect rates are there

If the defect rate is lower 40% you can take a safe risk and buy it

Even if there is any problem just RMA it you can get a new card within the warranty period
