Is tennis a good way to get into shape? I'm a little over weight and absolutely hate running and stuff but if I can mix it in with some sort of goal it would be better.

Also, is the Moto 360 a good fitness tracker? If not, what's a good fitness tracker that tells the time and could even show texts I got from my phone?

Tennis is good for working out, you have to run around a LOT, but then again don't choose a sport on the direct intent of losing weight, that's a byproduct of playing a sport. Start by working with a friend, and maybe going to private tennis classes?

I play tennis :)

I'd just do what ever physical activities you find fun, I for one LOVE to play Frisbee, and I could just play that all day long. As long as you're having fun you won't even realize you're working out!

Tennis would be a good start IMO, especially if you have a court near you at a park or something. About the Moto 360 being a fitness tracker, I don't know. But if you are looking for a fitness tracker only, than get something like a Fitbit Charge/ChargeHR, check out there lineup it's pretty good. But the Moto 360 is more of a smart watch than a fitness tracker in my opinion.

To graduate from my school, you have to take two athletic classes and so I took tennis. We've only had a couple of classes but I've been going to the courts with my girl friend and playing and so far so good.

I know the 360 was more for a watch but I thought it also had some fitness trackers. Currently I have a pebble and the watch and syncing with your phone is great but how it tracks "fitness" is using an accelerator and tracking your arms movement back and forth. Very inaccurate.

I've played tennis for 13 years and I still love it.

At times you require a short burst of running, but only maybe 5 yards at most.

I highly suggest you at least try it, I fell in love with it even though I was 2 years old at first. :)

I cba but seeing as though I questioned your reply, I guess I'll have to.

Don't overlook your nutrition, which is the one mistake the majority of people make. To lose weight, you simply need to be in a caloric deficit, meaning you're consuming less calories than your body is using. Therefore, it's crucial you know how many calories you're consuming, otherwise, how are you meant to know if you're in a caloric deficit?

Depending on your weight and size, your basal metabolic rate is going to be roughly 2500 calories; anything below that, and you'll lose weight. So that you don't starve your body of nutrients, as that's what we function off, you don't want do anything extreme, cutting back a couple of hundred calories is a safe way to do it - so lets say anywhere from 1600 to 2000 calories, depending on what you can function off.

As for exercise, any activity will burn calories... Tennis is certainly a good place to start; a lot of constant movement involved and will be great for your muscle tone. Do whatever you enjoy. A good diet, with a decent amount of protein (20-30g is all you'll need), decent amount of carbs and some healthy fats not forgetting your vitamins and minerals.

That's about it. Simple, right? Don't need no personal trainer, or bullshit products.

As for the Moto 360, no idea. I just track my macros, and can roughly guess how many calories I'll be burning...

I use to play tennis. It can be murder on the joints though.

Golf is fun too, its challenging and you're outdoors same as tennis. So long as you don't get a cart it can be great exercise too.
