I GOT TO BE ON THE WAN SHOW THRICE!! WOOOOOOO so glad I went! Ok now that that's out of my system let's continue...

1: Traveling to the destination (How many others were with you):

- So me and two of my friends drove there from Edmonton. It was the first time me and my buddy Raymond had ever been outside of alberta. Neither of us travel very much. It took us about 12 hours to drive there.

2: Time you reached:

- we arrived at about 1pm but there was a HUGE crowd outside so we visited the nearby Wendy's first. Took a break, and came back around 1:30pm.

3: About People in general that were there for the meetup , one's you became friends with (both forum & other members):

- I've been to a few meetups like this before in Edmonton, this didn't seem to be much different than those. Linus Tech Tips is a good forum with a good community. Everyone there was pretty friendly. I talked to a lot of people there, I'm a little shy though so I never really exchanged contact information with any of them (I kinda regret that).

4: Overall feel / Vibe / Weather:

- the weather was basically what I expected. Pretty warm and humid. I'm glad it didn't rain as I forgot to pack a jacket with me. First suntan I've had in almost a decade. (I really don't go out much). I was impressed with how well everyone behaved, as I've seen these types of events get ugly before.

5: What you were expecting & what you found surprising that you didn't expect:

- I was expecting the Linus crew to be pretty chill and try to have a good sense of humor about the whole thing. Fortunately this is exactly what they were. Which was good when the angry biker guy was being loud for no reason. Lesser groups wouldn't of been as cool and composed. Even if it was only on the surface. I honestly wasn't really surprised by anything there, he's been pretty transparent about his company and what they do there. I was however pretty surprised how tough those updesks are.

6: experience meeting Linus in flesh / didn't get to meet him:

- I don't know if I really got to meet him, I was but one in a sea of nerds flailing about in his presence. We talked a little bit, but he was pretty busy and there were a ton of people he had to deal with there. He had his professional entertainer face on the whole time, which is cool, but I don't think that's the real Linus. I'm not complaining or anything, If anything it's praise that he was able to keep his cool amongst all the craziness. But yeah, I met him, but I don't think I had the time really met him you know??

7: Meeting other crew members / Office tour:

- The other guys were pretty cool but overall they looked pretty overwhelmed by the massive amount of people. They didn't do anything wrong but you could tell that they were so caught up in the moment that they kind of forgot what they were doing. They were definitely fun to hang out with though.

8: How's the new office actually  :P:

- The place is waaay cleaner than I expected, and actually reminds me of a few engineering companies I've helped out, (I'm an IT networking guy). I was very impressed with how quiet the server cabinet was. Everything looks like it was professionally done this time. Good job, no janky whole room water cooling here. Now obviously there was a lot that wasn't finished, but I wouldn't be concerned with that. Every construction project I've seen for offices like that are ALWAYS behind schedule, months and months behind schedule. I'm actually impressed with how much you've gotten done already.

I mainly went because I wanted to go someplace outside of Alberta for once, so I figured that I could use this meetup as a good opportunity for that. It definitely was. I had a lot of fun visiting you guys and if you ever do it again you can guarantee that I'll go again.

I also recorded a video log of my journey and released it on my Youtube channel. http://kor.ninja/ I hope I'm not violating any rules by posting this here, if so let me know and I'll remove the link.

There really should be an age limit next time. The kid on the meet up giveaway video was really annoying.

For me, it's 5165 miles..

If I would have had vacation and a bit more money reserves, I would definitely have went up there ;-)

1: Travelled from Edmonton! With 1 other friend. So... funny story.. for some retarded reason, we thought it would be a brilliant idea to leave at night so we could avoid traffic... had this all planned out. I stayed up relatively late Tuesday night so by the time I get off work on Wednesday, I would be really tired. This worked and I was extremely exhausted by the time I got the my friend's place. I slept for 3-4 hours and got up around 9pm.. "Well.. doubt I'll be able to sleep anymore... LET'S GO!" We took off around 10pm and headed for Banff. The plan was to meet up with another friend on vacation in Peachland the following day and just kind of visit and hang out. We ended up getting to Banff at around 3am and slept in some parking lot. It was cold and miserable and since I was doing all the driving (Car is a manual and my friends ALL SUCK) I needed to get at least a bit of sleep.. We wake up around 6am, grab some coffee, and hit the road again. We reach Peachland at around 1pm and stayed till about 5pm and took off again but this time for Surrey! On the way there.. I had a bit of a panic... the road started to become really steep and I had to downshift multiple times to meet the 120km/hr speed limit. When we left Peachland I had about 1/4 tank left of gas and thought "ahh there should be a gas station on the way! and since we're going DOWN to Vancouver, it should be.. DOWN hill.." I was really wrong.. REALLY REALLY wrong... Those were some damn steep climbs heading out of Peachland. We barely made it to Merrit to fuel up.. After that, it was just straight down to Surrey. I was soo exhausted by the end of this drive...The drive back was nonetheless, equally exhausting..
2: We got to the garage sale around 11:00am and I wasn't sure when to head over.. didn't want to be that awkward person just standing around the building.. We walked up around 11:30 and noticed others so It wasn't so bad.
3: The people were well.. as you'd expect, a bunch of nerds haha myself included of course. The "Live Unboxings" were really cool but the yelling from the group made it feel like you were watching Twitch chat....live...
4: Overall the vib was awesome, everyone was eager to meet our own version of "heroes" that make the awesome videos we enjoy. It was a relatively warm day but that didn't stop the people from standing in line and waiting for their turn at the LMG tour around the new office. I also met a guy called Steve. He was behind us in the lineup for the tour and wore a "Vote of Turnip" shirt. Steve was pretty cool.

5: I was expecting maybe a small handful of people to show up and kind of just hang out. I was wrong, and I'm glad I was. A ton of people showed up from all around, and it was really neat to see the faces of others that enjoy the same thing I do.
6: Meeting Linus was.. I guess your average Fan meets Celebrity kind of feel... and it wasn't his fault at all.. I guess I was just kind of awkward? There was a ton of people after the LG unboxing that swarmed him and when I got my chance, it was "Hey can I have a photo?" followed by "hey can you also sign this?" I guess this is what you would call "Starstruck?" however when I think back now, as i'm typing this... maybe it was because there was just so many people and I didn't really want to take up too much time so other can get their chance.... dunno

7:Meeting other members of the staff was awesome! Had a chance to talk to each one more then once and it felt like just meeting another person. Everyone was very personable and very easy to approach. The tours were done in 2 separate groups, by both Linus and Luke. Our group had the pleasure to be guided by Luke. I guess this leads to our next number.
8: The new office looks great! I love the separate sets and i'm eager for them to start releasing videos filmed in front of them! It was a bit messy just as you'd expect from the New Office Vlogs. We got to see every room including the "Editor's Den" where Taran was editing the Unboxing clips from that morning. We also got to see the PC that is now being given away! oooOOOoo  :P

I think there should be one more category: Did you purchase anything from the Garage Sale/ Auction?
I was able to grab a Corsair Obsidian Series 780D and a Logitech G510s from the Garage Sale.
There was an Auction after to try to get rid of the rest of the things and it was a blast! I was able to get a Steelseries Sensei and a Corsair H2100 headset out of it. Getting the headset was... interesting.. The Auction wasn't picking up much speed so they started to bundle things together like case+_____ to try to get rid of cases.. They then bundled 3 Headsets together (Corsair H2100, H1500, and a Logitech G230) and I thought why not, since I break them quite frequently anyway. I won that auction at 80$!! As I stepped away from the table... others offered to buy 2 of the headsets.. so I sold the G230 and H1500 for 70$... 10$ for a H2100. Not bad. I really wanted to buy 1 of the Titan Blacks and when I got my chance to bid on it, I didn't.. thinking "aw well, there's one more!" .... there wasn't... the Titan was won at 400$... the next bid was 450$ and I could have won......

All in all it was a fantastic trip! We decided to stay an extra day to check out things around Vancouver. Thanks for having us and if there is ever another meetup/ garage sale. I'm more than willing to make that drive out again!

1: I traveled from Maple Ridge, took two buses and biked the rest.

2: Took me an hour and a half.

3: Met some guy who came from Seattle which was pretty cool. Also one of my high school friends at the event which I didn't expect at all.

4: All I have to say about the vibe and weather was they were pretty damn lucky with our bi-polar weather. Super great vibe, everyone from the technology community are generally generous, mature and intelligent. The internet just makes it possible for the idiots to shine.

5: Due to the fact that I watched all of the moving vlogs, I knew what to expect. I think a lot of people were expecting NCIX warehouse deals, were disappointed that it wasn't that low, but bought shit anyway because they brought butt loads of cash.

6: Linus was awesome, his personality and humor is something I idolize. I was in the third tour group and he was very down to earth about his business and enjoyed sharing details of how his business evolved from nothing to one of the biggest youtube channels in Canada. Apart from Linus I got to sort of meet his wife since I bought a motherboard for my friend whose died and was out of warranty (I was feeling generous) she was nice. I briefly said hello to Berkel and Dennis, got to talk with Jon, and didn't really get to talk to the others since they weren't in sight too much and were really swamped with the warehouse sales and filming.

7: Like I said, I got to be in the third tour group. Linus took us into the entry way where he died in agony because he just realized someone touched the freshly painted grey wall. Down the hall he showed us where he'd keep Harry Potter, and his sanity closet. He then explained how handy his new furniture was for the bench marking room, and how horribly long it takes to find specific products that do what you want them to do. (I feel your pain linus, 3 hours is a long time but no where near the amount of time I spend looking for the perfect BACKPACK. Still haven't found one.) After that he showed us the editing room, which looked a lot bigger than it did on the instagram photo. He ranted about how he finally was able to use the full potential of the Titan X with cineform (apparently a gopro codec) within the video editing program which I was blown away about. After that he led us out into the warehouse and talked about the WAN show set and workshop. Then to the green screen where he rambled about the paint that was going on it, the curve, etc. One thing that bothered me the most about all their videos when they used a green screen was the greenish hue around the individual. Linus asked everyone what makes a good chroma key, someone said a flat green background, and then I said distance. There is another KEY thing about chroma keying, and it doesn't seem like the video editors or camera operators know. Shutter speed, increasing it decreases motion blur. LINUS, YOU DO NOT WANT MOTION BLUR WHEN GREEN SCREENING. When you make rapid hand movements, sometimes it looks like you have 3 fingers as the chroma key doesn't know what to do with the blurred greenish hued hand. So there's my rant about my one gripe about their videos... After that we got to see another huge modular set for random shit, and then he moved onto another set which was just being painted white at the time. It was going to be for B-roll, and Brandon ordered a camera arm that will end up taking some really nice shots of products. We went through the warehouse some more, and Linus ranted about a metal reinforced func keyboard and blamed Brandon for it within the moral of the story. Then he showed us his massive.... 1 million subscribers plaque. He ranted on how big it was and didn't know where youtube expected him to put it. I said on the wall, and he basically called me a "smart guy" but I knew he meant smart ass, but there was a camera rolling... lol. Linus showed us the server room. I just kinda stood there and soaked it all in, because the router alone was $40,000 (they couldn't buy it outright). ISN'T IT AMAZING HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO PAY IN CANADA FOR ANY UPLOAD SPEED FASTER THAN 3 MBPS?!?! We went upstairs, showed off the janky green screen, and then showed us the sales team desks and talked about how important they were to the team. Then off camera Linus talked about his business and how many people never understood how much time, effort, and money goes into each and every video. It really inspires me as a film maker and technology lover. After that, he showed off his secret compartments if you know what I mean... in the board room of course. No no, I mean the secret storage where the bench was gonna go. After that, we walked down the stairs where we did in fact not see a fire pole, but we saw hand railings which was safer than before. Then we were escorted outside, and took a selfie with Linus.

8.) Here's my selfie with Linus. Socks and sandals as usual.

1: Travelled from Edmonton! With 1 other friend. So...

OMG Fellow Edmontonion. Your story reminds me so much about my trip. I went through Jasper though. Coquihalla is a crazy road. I wish the highways here had a 120kph speed limit. Also our rental car did the same. We blew through half a tank of gas on that road alone. I think it was the wind and high altitude that did it. Our ears popped so many times. (From Edmonton, so used to everything being flat.)

1: Traveling to the destination (How many others were with you)

I came (nice one *high fives self) from Everett Washington so not too bad of a drive. Drove into Surrey on Wednesday and stayed with family since they live pretty close to the new office. My cousin tagged along with me, she was a bit bored because it was such a sausage fest plus she's not into technology LOL.

2: Time you reached

Arrived around 1:30 and hopped in line for the garage sale right away. The line suprisingly moved fairly quickly when I was in it.

3: About People in general that were there for the meetup , one's you became friends with (both forum & other members)

Had some small talk with some random people in the line and while waiting around.

4: Overall feel / Vibe / Weather

Didn't get to do much because I didn't have the patience to stand in more lines.

5: What you were expecting & what you found surprising that you didn't expect
I was hoping that the survey numbers would not be representative of the number of people actually showing up.

6: experience meeting Linus in flesh / didn't get to meet him
Didn't get to meet him. I expected that, I imagine It was a bit overwhelming having a huge group of people trying to take pictures and get autographs.

7: Meeting other crew members / Office tour
Said hey to a couple of the crew members (Brandon, Taran, Berkel etc.). I didn't ask for autographs or pictures because I'm not a fangirl like that. Shots fired.

8: How's the new office actually
Didn't get to tour the office, but I peeked around the corner when I was getting my items from Yvonne.

Overall the experience was great. I got myself a sweet deal on a Corsair 400r case which I was really stoked on since I was half expecting most of the good items to be gone by the time I arrived (I'll be posting a build log on it soon!). I saw a liquid cooler I wanted on the list AFTER I had already left, Oh well. I was a bit jealous of the little kids who brought their parents to pay for all their items HAHAH.
