I think that it needs to be same latency, frequency, and voltage, otherwise its recommended you buy same model or swap it out for the total amount of RAM you wish to have.

since the ram i have is the HyperX Fury DDR3 2x4GB 1600MHz i think i'm just gonna buy a kit more of that and put that in
