i5 + 980 Ti //VS// i7 + 980 and some other questions for my new pc!

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hFVQbv

So, I've finally done a lot of research and settled with this. And i have a few questions about my pc:

Q1: i5 + 980 Ti or i7 + 980. Some of you are thinking that this is overkill for 1080p but i really need 120 - 144 fps in most of the games with all settings maxed out (or nearly). I don't have the money for an i7 and a 980 Ti because my budget is 3000 to 3100 USD. So i need your help. I am going to be doing light video and sound editing and livestreaming. so it comes down to the i5 4690K or the i7 4790K (will overclock them both, that's why i choose the unlocked versions).

Q2: Seagate 2TB SSHD vs WD Black 2TB?

Q3: Windows 8.1. Good for gaming and editing? Or should i go with Win 10 or stick with the current one that i have Win 7 Ultimate?

Q4: Can you guys give me some personal opinions on the keyboard / mouse / headset / mic if you have them (i've never tried any of them) ?

Q*: Anything else you would like to change if you were me?

IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE TRY TO ANSWER IN ORDER (A1, A2, A3, A4, A*)

I would like to thank all of you who are willing to spend their time helping me solve my problems

Thank you

                                                                                                                                        MarkoCroatiaMC

1 i5 is ideal for gaming, i7 will give you only a bit more performance and overclocked i5 might be even better!

2 SSHDs are mainly for people who don't know a lot about PCs get HDD and SSD

3 win 10 is best, you can get free upgrade from 7/8/8.1

4 K70/G502 or corsair m45 if you like smaller mouse/ hyperX cloud

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QL83D3

Changed the motherboard, it doesn't affect performance, those premium ASUS MBOs are overpriced...

Changed HDDs, no need for SSHD if you have SSD

Changed the PSU, 750W is enough for 1 980ti, if you plan to add second get 850W

You could get i7 with saved money but i5 is great.

as people above are going to re do the builds,

I'm just going to say, avoid overly expensive peripherals unless they have good reviews, and don't get a sshd for a desktop

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

"Like" comments to show your support of them or the idea they express.

Not a bad build but for gaming Z97 makes more sense.

I'd go for a K70 instead of a K95. Macros seem cool at first, but are useless in reality. Unless you play some weirdo games that requires them.

Do not go gentle, into that good night.

There's no reason why you can't fit an i7 and a 980 ti with a $3k budget. Should be able to do it fairly comfortably too!

All that money yet 1 980Ti and a shitty monitor?

Not my monitor decision. And a lot of the money is in the peripherals anyway.

Peripherals which OP can buy at a later time anyways. When I'm building a new system, I'm always spending all my money on the tower itself, and then buy peripherals later.

This would be best bang for buck. What's the point in having a 3000$ build if you are using a shitty monitor xD

Macros are great for productivity. At that point either get a K65 or K95, because K70 makes no sense with the numpad that most people never use, only game that often uses it are race games like NFS.

No, I use a controller like a lot of people. Also you can obviously rebind those keys.
