Hi guys! 390X cf VS 980ti VS 980 sli VS titanx

Hi...this is probably me last question because I had already ordered my BENQ 4K monitor and I think it will do a great job on 4K gaming and photo editing.  The thing is ,now I only have  about 1000$USD on graphics cards. It seems I don't have too much choice but only 390Xcf or 980sli or a single 980ti or a titanx. I'm not gonna choose titanx so that's not a problem...So can you help me? 390X cf will cost about 860$,980sli will cost 980$ ,and a EVGA 980ti SC+ will cost less than 700$. I just want to know if a single 980ti can run 4K game smoothing(I mean at least 30 fps in ultra setting ,no AA, the game will be some new game this year on PC like GTA5 or The witcher 3 ),and how about 390X cf? and 980sli?

980ti is the best choice.

390x cf will cover you in both raw hp and vram, so that would be a good choice, but if you want stability, then a 980ti would do you well.

980 sli could become an issue with only 4gb of vram, and same goes for the fury/ fury x.

one issue with 390x cf is it will be a space heater... and there used to be microstutter problems with crossfire back in the day, and I have no read up on weather its all good now.

I personally would go for a single 980ti then when starts to become a little under-powered you can add another for SLI for better FPS.

Thanks! I prefer 390Xcf too...I don't really care about the heat because this city I live is a little too cold...but I do care about the extra electricity it will use because my father is a environmentalist...this is really killing me

I would go for 2 390s in CF. Crossfire scaling is much better than SLI and you have the 8 GB of VRAM to be futureproof with. More titles are going to use much more vram in the future than they use core. One last thing: DO NOT go for 390x in CF. The price difference does not justify the extra 2fps per game!

The energy consumption of 390x cf will be more than a single 980 ti (like nearly twice as much), but since you wont be gaming 24/7 the monthly increase likely wont be noticeable over your fridge/ microwave

I'd go with the 980ti.

i have one and a 4k monitor and its great. 30fps isn't a worry on any game maxed out and most games you'll easily hit 60fps.

just remember at 4k you don't need AA so turning it off will massively bump up frame rates.
