Hey there, recently (due to it being summer break in the UK) I've started going to bed ridiculously late, like 10am Late, and waking upo at like 7pm and not seeing my family, well I can swap it back but the problem is I'm always tempted to stay up late to play with friends in America, and was wondering if anyone has a method to not do it?

I dont go to bet quite that late, but I do get annoyed when I wake up later than 10am, as the day goes by really quick.

Since I cant really just go to be earlier, I try to wake up earlier and earlier, day by day, so even if you are tempted to stay up, you are too tired to do so.

They call it a job. I used to be like you, getting up late and going to sleep late.

Even at Uni I did the same. I missed so many lectures because of this. Sleeping pills did not help because I was sidate for most of the next day and thus for morning lectures.

So now I have a job, 9:00-5:00 monday till friday. Although I can go in late if I oversleep, my boss is awesome like that but I get paid less if I do that.

I assume your age is like 14-16 so get something like a paper round or if yor age is 16-18 get a morning shift at the local asda or something. If you're at uni, theres no exuse not to get a job, what with the economy being reasonably good.

If it's a choice, basically, go to bed earlier, simple as that, if you have turned it into a pattern that's becoming unhealthy and you can't fall sleep, try 3mg of melatonin one hour before going to bed, helps restore the circadian rhythm, it's used for jetlag for that reason. Melatonin is particularly safe, i wouldn't advice on any sedative, specially for a 15 yo.

Your problem isnt so much with sleep its with your daily, or in this case nightly, habbits.

You can either set a max limit foryour self for how long you will stay up, lets say midnight at the most, and if you can stick to that then you will be fine.

If you tend to ignore your self imposed max limits then i would say only game with your friends on certain nights.  Friday sat and Sunday can be your gaming nights, but the rest of the week stay away from the games.  If you remove yourself from the problem then the symptoms of that problem should disappear.

I've had similiar issues.  I would sit on the couch and watch netflix/youtube well into the night and not get anything done.  I found myself turning on the TV the moment i walked in the door.  Now i try avoid turning on the TV until after a set time.  That way i get more stuff done and dont feel like ive wasted an entire evening.

Hope some of what i said helps.

damn and it thought i went to bed late (6:00) and i wake up at about 15:00 xD

OP dont worry, thats normal with gamers, me personally i only go to bed because i dont live alone and it would be akward to stay up all night xD
