Does EVGA allow overclocking

Metro

Hello

I am thinking about overclocking my GTX 980ti Classified on air but does it void the warranty, it says no physical damage but what happens if I overclock it and then after 1 year, the GPU stops working because a capacitor blown it. Would this void the warranty if they found out the overclock did this to it.

I might increase the voltage as well on it.

Thanks

Voiding warranties for overclocking is a thing of the past... Unless you're doing custom bios's etc... mind you EVGA doesn't care at all as long as it comes back to them stock if it breaks.

Gaming PC: CPU: i7 4770k@4.2GHz w/ CM Nepton 140xl, GPU: Gigabyte 1070 @2050, RAM: ADATA XPG V1 16GB@2133MHz, Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 7, Case: Corsair NZXT S340.

They could check the BIOS for overvolting but they don't ever. If it breaks just say it died and EVGA will send you a new one once you RMA it. EVGA is pretty much the best when it comes to RMA, so don't worry about it.

It be stupid if they didn't support overclocking. Since the card is built for it.

Caps are very unlikely to blow on that card at all.

I do know that you can overclock, I was just making sure, I do not want to void two GTX 980ti Classifieds warranty

You seriously bought a top of the range card for overclocking, one where you could of saved a hell of a lot of money and don't know if you can overclock or not?

I am sorry, is there a problem, I could of bought a MSI Lightning and Kingpin and not overclock it, you just might want to run it at stock speeds, when you spend £6000 on a PC, warranty is in consideration of it. I asked for opinions before I did it. I was not expecting such a response from a member on this forum, if you actually spent £6000 on a PC, you would want warranty on all the components in it. Also some people just buy the Classified, Kingpin and Lightning for build quality

Only people who don't know what they're doing spend that much on a PC or buy any of those and don't overclock.

You really think I do not know what I am doing, people spend that much because they want a good PC that can play games above 1080p and 1440p, I guess you do not know anything above 1080p then

My build can run Ultra on 1440p..

Clearly you like to throw your money at things you have no clue about..

Well get above 1440p and you will notice it starts to cost more money. When you spend £1000 on a monitor you need good GPUs to run it.

2 x 980s would of been more than enough..

Nevermind spending even more on cards that were designed for overclocking..

The classified & kingpin cards are DESIGNED to be overclocked.

They overbuild the living crap out of them so that you never have to worry about damaging components on the PCB unless you're going absolutely nuts with voltage. (Like 1.8v, which is Ln2 territory)

They have either 3 or 5 year warranty and no it's not voided by OC'ing.  I believe you can purchase an additional few years for like $30 as well.

Stuff:  i7 7700k @ (dat nibba succ) | ASRock Z170M OC Formula | G.Skill TridentZ 3600 c16 | EKWB 1080 @ 2100 mhz  |  Acer X34 Predator | R4 | EVGA 1000 P2 | 1080mm Radiator Custom Loop | HD800 + Audio-GD NFB-11 | 850 Evo 1TB | 840 Pro 256GB | 3TB WD Blue | 2TB Barracuda

I was reading the terms of their warranty the other day and EVGA actually does allow you to change the BIOS if you have a dual BIOS card.

Thanks for telling me, not sure I would want to do that though
