Nvidia tweaked the driver so that unimportant assets get loaded into the slower part of the vram. The card itself still has that problem.

Shared memory on Windows 10 allocates RAM IIRC.

Hello guys, recently i bought asus Strix Gtx 970, and i know about 3.5 gb of Vram isue, starting playing GTA V and VRam usage is more than 3.5 and no FPS drop ir smth.

I think the Vram usage of GTA V is kinda conservative, according to the menu i'm using 3,6 gigs, but it's actually a bit lower, i don't know about the software you were using tho.

It's physically impossible for a 970 to access the 512MB ram partition during the The same cycle as the 3.5GB partition, so the original issue will always be there. Note that I said issue and not problem :)

That little bar in the menu shows the maximum of VRAM that you'll most likely use. It's just an indicator.
