Do you type "properly"?

I move my hands rather than my fingers

That's actually really good, even when you're not using the hunt-and-peck technique. It lessens the distance your fingers need to move by themselves, so it's more efficient.

I only type properly for the ASDFGHJKL keys. For the other keys, I just move my hand around all over the place.

 

When I type properly, I can get around 50 WPM. Using "my way", I get around 80 WPM.

I never use my thumbs and I only use my pinky when I'm capitalizing something.

No. My left hand stays on ASDF while my right hand is much further over, with my right pinky pretty much always over the enter key. My right hand covers 60% of the keys while my left covers 40%. Years of IM/in game chat did that to me.

Both my pinkies are double jointed, and my right hand one is especially weird. I have tried typing the normal way and it keeps switching joints and feels really weird. (It also sometimes jolts my hand to make my other fingers push down keys.)

My pinkies do a similar thing. (why just the pinkies?) I don't think its "double jointed" its that the tendon is too short and when your pinky bends the tendon stretches till a certain point and then snaps over the joint to the other side. I think it hits a nerve or something because my hand jolts when it happens sometimes as well.
