8350 for budget core intensive things like streaming, rendering, multitasking like hell.(will also do well for gaming up to I say a GTX970/amd equivelent) The only downside is its on a dead platform so no upgrade path. Will have to replace your Mobo when you want more power. And the cores of the 8350 are alittle weaker, but it has more of them.

The i5 is a better choice for general tasks and gaming. Only downside is it has fewer cores, so things like game streaming or multitasking like hell it will have issues.

End-of-life doesn't mean it's completely dead like AM3+. People are still running i5 2500K CPUs and they are far from dead.

not completely no. But if hes starting a new build, go with the newest no?

Ryzen 7 5800X3D , Arctic Liquid Freezer  III , Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite , Corsair Vengeance 32GB , Gigabyte RTX 5070Ti ,  WD SN850 / MP44L

Corsair RM 850x, LIAN LI Lancool 207

Amd CPUs are shit for streaming, take it from someone who had one.

For gaming and normal day-to-day applications like web browsing, web design or streaming, get the i5-4690K. If the system is primarily for video editing and stuff you will probably get more out of the FX-8350.

Intel i5-4690K @ 3.8GHz || Gigabyte Z97X-SLI || 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600MHz || Asus GTX 760 2GB @ 1150 / 6400 || 128GB A-Data SX900 + 1TB Toshiba 7200RPM || Corsair RM650 || Fractal 3500W

Not really..

Yes it does. People still buy 8350s and 2500ks, but the fact of the matter is they're equally as dead. There's no discussion about it, I don't care if you have bias towards one or the other.

What one did you have? my 8320 would stream 720p, 60FPS well playing BF3 pretty well. Maybe a 5-10fps dip when streaming. I am quite sad I had to sell it.
