Do you have a blue wall? or a red wall?

my room is painted the perfect color for blue screening :)

white/gray can't work cause match skin color.

Green>Blue>red

best order

well it needs to be mostly even lighting.

No/minimal shadows,

so you need to light the screen without really lighting you.

i just use a couple lamps. works just fine.

To be honest it doesn't have to be green. Any distinct colour will work as long as your clothes do not match the same colour. Learn green screen keying and you will see that it's not about the colour in post. The only reason why they use green colour in production is because of the pixel distribution on the camera sensor. They have a lot more green sensors inside...

I have done a "green screen" in minecraft to make a video overlay of a creeper. Obviously green wouldnt work here, so I used pink wool instead and it worked perfect. As for real life, my school used some diffused garage lights and a green cloth from the hobby store.

If this is within your budget:

This way you don't have to repaint your walls.

Or you could look for curtains of uniform color, blue, green, red, at your local store.
