I'm not a fan of the hyper 212 evo, the cryorig H7 and the be quiet! pure rock are both better at the same price point. You are overdoing a bit on the PSU, for a single CPU, single GPU build, you don't need more than 500W, so 600-700W is plenty and will allow you to upgrade the GPU to whatever comes in the future.

forgot the ssd, a 120gb samsung

Also...maybe invest in a better CPU cooler right away? nothing wrong with the budget options, but they usually end up being replaced. Something like a thermalright macho allows nice overclocks and is not very expensive. For high end air cooling, CRYORIG R1 Ultimate or Noctua NH-D15. An AIO is also an option but they are not worth it unless you get a dual rad, so, they are a pretty much the higher priced option.

Better cpu cooler such as a noctua nh-d15 and get a dual channel kit of 2X8 gigs of ddr4 rather than a quad channel kit of 4X4 gigs, you will have the same performance and have the option to upgrade to 32 gigs

The nh-d15 costs triple the amount of the 212 evo, so there is no reason to recommend it instead in a build of this class.

They are usually pretty close, have checked them in puerto rican and belgian sites for people in this forum and they were very close.

in the uk the 212 evo is £25 and the noctua is £70.

I recently upgraded to a 4790k so my sig is out of date

nice, still, a noctua is not needed for a cpu thats not gonna get overclocked that much if at all.

Switch the PSU to a Evga 550w g2 instead

take a single 8gb memory stick, so you can upgrade later and 16gig is overkill

i already said that psu ;) ner ner, 650 watts will be better if he wants to sli, and 16gbs is a better option straight off the bat.

Well he could save some cash and just get a single 8gb stick now and later he could just add another.

Isnt that much off a change but he might save 5-10$ when prices go down later

I just recommended a good heatsink, he may or may not overclock

it is good yes but overkill, plus the cryorig r1 ultimate is cheaper, looks better and gives a slight better performance.

i think i will go with the 4x4, it is also a question about aesthetics ;) i see what you mean about the psu being a bit overkill. I will reconsider that as well. About the cpu cooler, what about the be quiet! dark rock pro 3? i just dont think it will fit with my ram?

I recomend getting this PSU if you want fully modular

https://www.komplett.dk/corsair-rm650-650w-psu/796966

It will save you some money, the one you have now is a very premium unit, has a lot of stuff you don't need and that adds to cost
